Pioneer Fiddlers
Welcome to Pioneer Fiddlers!
Pioneer Fiddlers is a co-curricular ensemble that primarily performs fiddle-style music. Later in the year, we will also learn a pop- or rock-style tune to perform at our annual Fiddle Fest.
During first semester, our group is comprised of mostly 7th and 8th grade students with a few 6th grade students who have prior experience. Our new, beginning 6th grade students will have the opportunity to register in December and join us in January!
Our rehearsals are Mondays at 6:45 a.m. Students should be dropped off at Door #1 and arrive between 6:30-6:40 a.m. for all rehearsals in order for us to begin at 6:45 a.m. Violins and violas are needed at every rehearsal. Cello and bass students may use schools instruments. However, if a home instrument is out of tune, this is a great time to bring it in for extra tuning help from a teacher. Students should always have their orchestra binder and a pencil.
Please email Mrs. Lauff at [email protected] to report any absences. At times we may only have 5 rehearsals to prepare for a concert! Attendance is critical for every rehearsal to help students feel confident on their part. Thank you for your effort to be on time and in attendance for every rehearsal. Please use the slideshow below to check in each week to see what was covered at rehearsal, what students should be practicing at home, concert details, and more!
7th & 8th Grade Students: If you would like to register for Pioneer Fiddlers, a registration form will be posted in Google Classroom in September.
For 8th grade students interested in applying for the Leadership Team, remember to complete the three-step application process in Google Classroom (will be posted in September).
Our agenda (slideshow) for each week will be posted in Google Classroom. If you are ever absent from school, please go through every slide and practice what we worked on so you can be prepared at our next rehearsal. Since we only meet one day each week, home practice is very important.
We are looking forward to a great year!
Our 6th Grade students will have an opportunity to join Pioneer Fiddlers (Thursday mornings) starting in January. Information will come home in December regarding how to register!
